API Documentation | Stackzilla

The Stackzilla public API lets you query our database of 1,100+ developer tools programmatically. Use it to build integrations, enrich your applications with tool data, or automate research workflows.

Authentication

API requests require an API key passed as a Bearer token in the Authorization header. Generate your key from your account settings.

Key endpoints

• GET /api/v1/tools — List and search developer tools with optional filters for category, tags, and job roles
• GET /api/v1/tools/:slug — Retrieve the full profile for a specific tool by its slug identifier
• GET /api/v1/tools/categories — List all available tool categories
• GET /api/v1/search?q=query — Full-text search across all tool names, descriptions, and aliases

Response format

All endpoints return JSON. Tool objects include: name, slug, category, tags, overview, features, pros, cons, gettingStarted, careerImpact, jobRoles, skills, websiteUrl, and logoUrl.
